About AmChamUS

AmChamUS is an accredited non-governmental organization representing American companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy. AmChamUS members range from the small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and chambers of commerce to leading industry associations and multinational corporations.

All members rely on the AmChamUS to be their voice inside in Washington D.C., outside the beltway, across the country, and around the world with our accreditation of American Chambers of Commerce across the globe. For decades, AmChamUS has advocated for pro-business policies that help businesses create jobs and grow the United States economy.

AmChamUS is not affiliated with any governmental agency. AmChamUS works with government not for the government.

Businesses that work with AmChamUS and adhere to its standards do so through industry self-regulation. To avoid bias, the AmChamUS' policy is to refrain from recommending or endorsing any specific business, product or service.

AmChamUS provides its own proprietary rating system for businesses. The rating system, a trade-secret,  represents AmChamUS'  degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner and will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns filed with AmChamUS. The organization prospects successfully vetted businesses to become dues-paying 'accredited businesses' that pledge and continue to adhere to the AmChamUS Code of Business Practices. In return, the AmChamUS allows accredited businesses in good standing to use its trademarks in marketing materials.

Mission

The mission of AmChamUS is to develop and implement policy on major issues affecting business. Key to this effort is AmChamUS work involving representatives of member corporations, organizations, and the academic community, all of whom serve voluntarily. In almost every instance, significant policy and public issue positions originate with one of these AmChamUS components.

Our organization has one overarching goal — to strengthen the competitiveness of the U.S. economy. We focus on these key areas.

AmChamUS fosters Independence. AmChamUS is not affiliated with any governmental agency. AmChamUS works with the government, not “for” the government.

AmChamUS key focus areas:

Tax, Economic Policy and Economic Development

AmChamUS fights for and supports broad-based economic growth through effective tax, fiscal and monetary policy.

Tax

  • Every decision a business makes — from choice of entity through daily operations to ultimate dissolution — has complex and critical tax implications.

  • Advocate for continued pro-growth tax policies in relevant tax legislation (e.g., tax extenders, technical corrections bills).

  • Continue to work with the administration on regulations and other guidance to implement the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

  • Continue to work with the administration, Congress, foreign governments, and governing organizations to achieve a multilateral consensus on the taxation of the digital economy.

  • Prevent rollback of any parts of the pro-growth tax reform bill enacted in 2017.

  • Oppose anti-growth tax policy proposals.

Economic Policy

  • With globalization and international trade both ever-changing and under constant threat of hyper-nationalized governments, advocating and understanding economic policies is of paramount importance.

  • Continue to defend the importance of central bank independence for sound, pro-growth monetary policy.

  • Continue to advocate for responsible fiscal policy, including entitlement reform, deficit reduction, and debt management.

Economic Development

  • Investment in Infrastructure and transportation projects is predicted to skyrocket over the coming years across the globe. In the United States in particular, there is a heightened focus on infrastructure investment, with the federal government and state and local governments evaluating options for increasing funding and financing options for infrastructure.

  • Advocate for effective implementation and utilization of opportunity zones across the U.S. and similar economic development programs.
