Code of Business Practices
AmChamUS members are required to respect the highest standards of business practices.
Members will make every effort to comply with local laws and regulations, and will avoid knowingly assisting any third party in violating any of those laws and regulations.
AmChamUS members will not pay or receive bribes, or participate in any fraudulent or corrupt practices.
AmChamUS members will honor their contractual obligations and commitments.
AmChamUS members will abide by the rules of fair competition.
AmChamUS members will be transparent in communicating AmChamUS positions to government officials.
AmChamUS members will not attempt to influence government officials through the exchange of gifts, money, or information.
AmChamUS will apply the same high standards in its relations with non-members.
Additionally, AmChamUS will (1) respond promptly and fully to member requests and inquiries, (2) deliver products, services, and payments as promised and in a timely fashion, (3) represent collective members’ interests when deemed appropriate, and (4) reject and actively discourage any form of bribery or favoritism in the conduct of business.
AmChamUS will engage in fair business practices. AmChamUS will (1) refrain from providing false or misleading information, (2) represent itself fairly and honestly in all negotiations, (3) uphold the spirit as well as the letter of the law in developing and fulfilling all contract arrangements, and (4) neither accept nor offer any form of bribery or improper use of personal relations in conducting its business.
AmChamUS will provide a safe and harmonious working environment by guaranteeing fair treatment of all employees based on performance, regardless of race, color, nationality, gender, creed, sexual orientation or political viewpoint.
AmChamUS will provide a safe and healthy environment in the workplace, including reasonable protection from physical hazards as well as from any behavior which may qualify as harassment. AmChamUS will regularly inform employees on updated company policies and procedures, as well as educate, train, or certify employees, as needed, in skill-specific duties and responsibilities of the position.
AmChamUS will not tolerate employee embezzlement or profiteering.
AmChamUS will respect all local laws and regulations.
AmChamUS will refrain from attempting to influence any interests through the exchange of gifts, money, or information; or engaging in any other activity that may be construed as corrupt or in violation of the letter and/or spirit of local laws and regulations.
